Short answer: not for the styling. Decorating your name with Unicode characters is not against the rules anywhere we know of. What gets people banned is what the name says or who it pretends to be — and styling can make both of those worse without you intending it.

Why styling itself is not the problem
A styled name is plain text. When you pick a script or bold style, each letter is swapped for a different Unicode character that looks that way — there is no formatting, no exploit and no modification of the game. You are typing characters into a text field, which is what the field is for.
Games restrict names in two ways: a list of characters the field will accept, and a policy about what a name may say. Styling runs into the first, and a rejected name is not a punished name. If a game does not want a character, the field refuses it at the door — which is a limit, not a strike against your account.
The four things that actually get names actioned
Every name policy we have read comes down to roughly these, and none of them is about decoration.

Notice what is absent: nowhere is “used unusual characters” a violation on its own. Decoration is a style choice, and games treat it as one.
The trap: styling that looks like filter evasion
This is the one place where styling genuinely creates risk, and it is worth being clear about because it can happen by accident.
Swapping letters for lookalike characters is exactly the technique people use to slip banned words past a word filter. Moderation systems know this, and many now normalise a name back to plain letters before checking it. If the normalised version contains something against the rules, the styling does not protect you — and having styled it can be read as evidence that you were trying.
The practical rule is simple. Style a name that is fine in plain letters, and you are fine. Style a name that would be rejected in plain letters, and you have turned a rejection into a possible strike. Our editorial policy is why we will not build anything aimed at defeating a moderation filter: it hurts the person using it more than anyone else.
The same logic applies to impersonation. A name that borrows an official-looking style or mimics a staff tag is impersonation whether or not the letters match exactly — and “the characters are technically different” is not a defence anyone accepts.
The real danger is not the ban
In practice, far more accounts are lost to name-related scams than to name-related bans, and this is the part worth remembering.
The pattern is consistent: a site or a message offers a rare name, a locked character, a reserved tag or a “name change without a card”, and asks for your player ID, your login, or a one-time code so it can “apply” the name for you. There is no such thing. A name is text you type into your own account, and nobody needs access to it to give you characters.
Nothing on NameStylish ever asks for a game account, a player ID, a password or an OTP. Styling a name needs none of those — it needs the name and nothing else — so there is nothing on this site to log into. If a site asks, close it. That single rule protects you better than any advice about styling.
The safe approach, in one line
Keep the plain reading of your name clean, decorate freely, and do not imitate anyone. Under that rule, styling is simply a style — whether it is a Free Fire name, a BGMI clan tag, or an attitude name.

Everything on this page’s four shelves sits around your name or replaces a letter with an obvious styled version of the same letter — none of it swaps a letter for a lookalike from another alphabet, which is the one habit in the previous section that a moderator can reasonably read as an attempt to slip a blocked word past a filter.
They are grouped by where the thing belongs rather than by what it looks like, because that is the decision you are actually making: a 24-character divider is lovely in a bio and useless in a 12-character name field.

Has anyone actually been banned just for a fancy name?
Not that we can find, and we would rather say that plainly than invent a statistic. Reports that look like it almost always turn out to involve the name’s meaning, an impersonation complaint, or something unrelated to the name at all.
What if a game rejects my name — is that a warning?

Can I get reported for a name that just looks odd?
Anyone can report anything. A moderator looking at a decorated but harmless name has nothing to act on, and unusual characters alone are not a violation.
Is an invisible or blank name against the rules?
