Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 August 2026. This policy explains what NameStylish (namestylish.com) actually does with information when you use our free stylish name and name style generator. It describes this site specifically — not a generic template — so where something leaves our server, we say so.

NameStylish privacy policy — no ads, no analytics, no account

The short version

NameStylish runs no advertising network and no analytics product, and it has no visitor accounts. The one thing you should know before typing is this: the name you enter is sent to the third-party service that powers name generation, together with your IP address, and a copy of the name is counted on our own server for up to 35 days.

  • We do collect: the name you type, nicknames you choose to submit, and technical data such as your IP address in server and security logs.
  • We do not collect: your email, phone number, location, or any account profile — we have no way to ask for them.
  • We do not run: Google Analytics or any other analytics product, and no advertising or ad-targeting cookies.
  • We never sell any of it.

No account, no sign-up

NameStylish has no visitor registration, no login and no password for the people who use the generator. There is no profile, no saved history tied to you, and no marketing list. You can style a name and copy it without telling us who you are.

The name you type into the generator

This is the section most privacy policies in this category leave vague, so here is the specific answer. When you type a name and run the generator, two things happen:

  1. It is sent to our name-generation provider. The generator is powered by a third-party backend operated by the software vendor that licenses the tool to us. The name you typed and your IP address are sent to that provider so it can register the name and return its results. This means the name leaves our server. The provider uses it to operate the service; we do not authorise it to use your data for advertising.
  2. A copy is counted on our server. We store the name alongside a daily count of how many times it was generated, so we can order the most popular styles and see which names people actually want. That table is automatically pruned, and rows older than 35 days are deleted by a job that runs every day.

Practical advice: the tool only needs a display name or gamer tag. Please do not type your full legal name, address, phone number, email or anything else sensitive into the box. The generator rejects entries that look like a phone number, an email address or a link, but that filter is a safety net, not a guarantee — the surest protection is not to enter personal details in the first place.

Nicknames you submit

If you use the contribute option to add a nickname to a name’s community list, that nickname is published on this site for everyone to see, so treat it as public from the moment you send it. Submitted nicknames are trimmed to 30 characters and screened against a blocked-word list before they appear.

Like the generated name, a submitted nickname is passed to our name-generation provider along with your IP address, which is used to attribute and rate-limit contributions. Copy, like and dislike counts for each nickname are stored on our own server and pruned on the same 35-day cycle. If you want a nickname you submitted taken down, email us and say which one — we will remove it.

Favourites you save

When you mark a name or style as a favourite, it is saved in your own browser’s local storage, on your own device. It is not sent to us and we cannot read it. Clearing your browser’s site data removes it, and it will not follow you to another device or browser.

Cookies and local storage

NameStylish does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The browser storage in use is limited to two things: local storage for the favourites described above, and any cookie our caching and security tools need in order to serve pages correctly and block abusive traffic. None of it is used to follow you across other websites, and there is no cross-site advertising profile built from your visit.

No advertising, no analytics

As of the date at the top of this page, this site loads no advertising network and no analytics script — there is no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no advertising tag and no social pixel on any page. We mention this because many free generator sites carry several, and because a policy that lists ad partners this site does not use would be inaccurate. If that ever changes, we will update this page and the date on it before the change goes live.

Other services your browser contacts

Beyond the name-generation provider described above, using the site means your browser or our server interacts with a small number of standard services:

  • Google Fonts — the site’s typefaces load from Google’s font servers, so your browser’s IP address is shared with Google in order to deliver them.
  • Security and firewall tools — these process technical data such as your IP address, request path and browser user-agent to detect and block attacks, and they keep their own logs of blocked and suspicious requests.
  • Caching and hosting — our host and caching layer record standard server log entries, which include IP addresses, so pages can be served quickly and problems can be diagnosed.

We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, and we do not run data-broker or people-search integrations of any kind.

How long we keep things

The name and engagement counters described above are kept on a rolling 35-day window and pruned daily — nothing in those tables is older than that. Security and server logs are kept only as long as needed to investigate abuse and keep the site online. Nicknames you publish to a community list stay visible until you or we remove them, because they are content rather than a log entry.

Children’s privacy

NameStylish is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and because there are no accounts we do not ask any visitor for age or identity details. If you believe a child has typed personal information into the site or submitted it as a nickname, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights and how to use them

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data — for example under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR in the EU and the UK, or the CCPA in California. These typically include the right to ask what is held, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to certain uses.

Because we hold no account for you, the practical route is simple: email s@namestylish.com and tell us the exact name or nickname involved and roughly when you used the site. We will delete matching rows from our own tables and pass a deletion request to our name-generation provider. You can also clear your browser’s local storage yourself at any time, and block third-party fonts or scripts with a browser extension — the core generator is built to keep working without them.

Changes and contact

If we change how this site handles data — including adding analytics or advertising — we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date at the top before or when the change takes effect. For anything privacy-related, email s@namestylish.com or use our contact page. How the wider service works is covered in the terms of use, who we are is on the about page, and the tool itself lives on the NameStylish home page.
